Two techniques – one unforgettable portrait
The portrait of a loved one or pet is created using diamond-needle engraving. A diamond-tipped stylus physically scores the polished granite surface, capturing the finest details – the depth of the gaze, hair texture, or the subtle features of a face. This technique is more durable than laser engraving because it alters the stone's structure rather than just its colour.
The lettering is executed by deep sandblasting: a pressurised sand stream chisels letters deep into the granite. The result is three-dimensional, exceptionally legible, and completely weatherproof – resistant to frost, rain, UV radiation and abrasion. The inscription will never fade or chip.

🛠️ Installation guide – step by step
- Prepare the surface: Clean and degrease the surface (e.g. with acetone). The granite must be dry.
- Apply adhesive: Apply stone silicone or outdoor mounting tape to the back of the plaque (minimum 4 points, one at each corner).
- Position and press: Place the plaque on the surface, align it and press firmly for 30 seconds. Use a spirit level to ensure it sits flat.
- Curing time: Stone silicone reaches full strength after 24–48 hours. Do not load the plaque during this time.

Is any photo suitable for engraving on a 35×25 cm plaque?
Most digital photos can be prepared for engraving. A high-resolution file (minimum 300 dpi at the target size) works best. Before production we create a professional graphic design and send it to you for approval – nothing is made without your confirmation. Diamond-needle engraving captures even the finest details.

How legible are sandblasted inscriptions – do they need maintenance?
Deep sandblasting is a classic, proven method. The letters are clear, three-dimensional (chiselled deep into the stone) and remain legible for decades without any maintenance. We do not paint the letters – the raw granite inside the lettering is matte, naturally contrasting with the polished surface.
Can I install the plaque myself?
Yes, installation is straightforward. The plaque can be bonded with readily available stone silicone or strong outdoor mounting tape. At 1–1.5 cm thick and ~4–5 kg, it is manageable without special tools. The full step-by-step guide is above.
Is the product safely packaged for delivery?
We use thick polystyrene padding and reinforced cardboard. Every shipment is insured. We have had no reports of granite damage during delivery with this packaging method.
What is the production time and how does the ordering process work?
Standard production is 7–10 working days from your final approval of the graphic design. After placing an order, we contact you, ask for a photo and the inscription text, prepare a design proof and send it for your approval. Production starts only after your confirmation.
