Additional Plaque – Add Another Name Without Removing the Stone
When a gravestone runs out of space for a new inscription, or when the main slab is firmly set and removing it would be risky and costly – an additional granite memorial plaque is the perfect solution. We prepare it in our stonemason’s workshop and bond it directly onto the existing slab using stonemason’s silicone, with no need for a removal crew.
This solution is especially popular for adding another person to an existing family grave. The monument retains its appearance while the missing details are added – quickly, safely and cost-effectively. The plaque is precision-cut to the dimensions you provide, so it fits perfectly into the available space on the gravestone.

When Is an Additional Plaque the Right Choice?
- The existing slab has no space to add another name – name, dates, epitaph
- You want to avoid removing a heavy main slab – saves time and money
- The gravestone slab is firmly set or fragile – any removal risks damage
- You want a consistent look – we match the granite to the colour of the existing stone
- You need fast completion without involving a cemetery crew for dismantling
Handcrafted Sandblasted Lettering – Lasting Inscription for Generations
All inscriptions are made by sandblasting – we engrave letters directly into the stone several millimetres deep using an abrasive stream under pressure. This is not a sticker or a film – it is a permanent recessed engraving that will remain legible for decades.
❓ How do I measure for the plaque?
Measure the available space on the gravestone with a tape measure – length and width in millimetres. Example: “250 mm × 180 mm”. Give measurements to the nearest 5 mm. If unsure, send us a photo of the gravestone with a ruler and we will help you choose the optimal size.
❓ How long does production take?
Standard lead time is 7–21 working days from approval of the inscription layout. Before engraving we send you a design proof – you can be sure the inscription will be exactly as you want it. Delivery by courier throughout Europe in foam-padded packaging.
❓ Is a silicone-mounted granite plaque durable?
Yes. Stonemason’s silicone is a professional adhesive used across the stonemasonry and construction industries. It withstands temperatures from −40°C to +120°C, is waterproof and flexible (compensates for thermal expansion of the stone). A plaque weighing 8–12 kg with a surface area up to 600×600 mm is safe on a silicone mount for decades.
