Pet memorial stone with bone design — what is it?
Pattern P1 pet memorial stone is a black granite slab 20×10 cm with a crossed-bone design engraved in the upper section. Inside the bone design — your dog's name (up to 10 characters). Below — birth year and death year. A simple, legible layout that fits all the key information on a compact stone. Natural black granite, polished on the front — white or gold lettering provides strong contrast on the dark background.
Bone design engraving — how does it look?
Pattern P1 features two crossed bones — an iconic symbol associated with dogs — with the name in the centre. The bones are engraved using sandblasting: sand under pressure creates a matte design on the polished black surface. The result is clear and durable. Letters can be painted white, gold or silver. White is the most durable (UV-resistant stone paint, 10–15 years).
Compact 20×10 cm format — how is it used?

How many characters fit inside the bone design?
Maximum 10 characters. Examples: "Buddy" (5) ✓, "Barnaby" (7) ✓, "Bartholomew" (11) ✗ — too long. For names over 10 characters we can reduce the font size or suggest a short form. Contact us before ordering via the contact form.
Can I include full dates (day.month.year) instead of just years?
Pattern P1 shows birth year and death year below the bone design. Full dates ("05.03.2010 – 12.08.2024") take up a lot of space on a 20×10 cm plate and may be hard to read at small letter sizes. For full dates we recommend the slightly larger paw print plate (22×15 cm, 110 PLN) which has more space.
Will granite last outdoors for many years?
Yes. Black granite has a water absorption rate below 0.1%, so water cannot penetrate the stone and cause frost cracks. The plate can stay outdoors year-round without any maintenance. The letter paint is UV-resistant stone paint — it keeps its colour for 10–15 years.
What is the difference between Pattern P1 (bone) and Pattern P2 (paw prints)?
Pattern P1 (this product, 20×10 cm, 120 PLN) — crossed bone design with name inside. A traditional, playful, dog-associated motif. Pattern P2 (paw print plate, 22×15 cm, 110 PLN) — paw prints engraved in the lower section, name and dates above. A gentler, more emotional motif. Both are similarly priced — choice is personal preference.
