Granite Gravestone Tablet – A Dignified Commemoration of Your Loved Ones

When faced with the loss of a loved one, we want to leave a lasting mark that will stand the test of time. Choosing the right granite gravestone tablet is not just an aesthetic decision, but above all a commitment to memory. Our granite cemetery plaque is created in our Bytom manufacture, where we combine respect for traditional stonemasonry with the precision of modern technologies. Every one of our black granite gravestone tablets is a handcrafted work of art, designed to tell the story of a life and love for decades.

Granite Soul: The Secret of Selected Black Granite

Not every rock is suitable for creating the perfect gravestone tablet with a portrait. The key to success is the density of the material. At Cempulik Stonemasonry, we work mainly on selected black granite (including Swedish or Impala types). This particular variety is characterized by almost zero moisture absorption, which makes every granite grave plaque from our workshop fully frost-resistant.

Water is the stone's absolute enemy. If the granite is porous, water penetrates its structure and freezes during frosts, bursting micro-pores. Our selected boards with a mirror shine are naturally resistant to this phenomenon. What's more, only deep, uniform black provides the perfect "negative" for diamond engraving, allowing for a powerful contrast without the use of chemical dyes that could flake off after a few seasons.

Diamond Needle Engraving vs Laser – The Truth About Portrait Durability

The most common question asked by our Clients is: "Will the portrait on the plate not disappear?" The answer depends on the technique. Cheap market offers rely on laser engraving, which only slightly "burns" the stone surface. This method is fast but shallow – the image becomes grayish over time and loses clarity.

In our workshop, we use diamond needle engraving. This is a physical process in which a precisely controlled head with a diamond blade strikes microscopic points into the structure of the granite. This can be compared to traditional carving, but with photographic accuracy. Thanks to this, the portrait becomes an integral part of the stone. Every shadow on the face, every gleam in the eye, or detail of clothing is permanently recorded in the rock. It is this technique that allows us to proudly speak of durability counted in generations.

Lettering – From Sandblasting to Traditional Hand Carving

While the image requires the precision of a needle, the letters and inscriptions require depth and appropriate character. The standard in our projects is deep sandblasting. This process involves cutting letters in the stone under high pressure of the abrasive. The result is recessed (three-dimensional) inscriptions that would remain readable for centuries even without paint.

To ensure perfect readability in all lighting conditions, we paint the recesses with specialized, UV-resistant stonemasonry paints (gold, silver, gray, or white). Unlike stuck-on letters, sandblasted, carved, or CNC letters will not fall off due to sun or rain. This is the foundation of artisanal solidity.

Mounting Instructions and Water Drainage Physics

A gravestone plaque, although heavy and solid, requires appropriate seating. As helpful craftsmen, we always advise you on the best assembly solutions. In the case of larger tablets (e.g., 50x40 cm or 60x60 cm), mounted on horizontal slabs of the gravestone, it is crucial to ensure water drainage.

Recommendation: We encourage you to choose the option with a supporting wedge (so-called Installation 1). This is a granite element that lifts the back of the tablet by about 5–7 cm. This creates a natural slope, thanks to which rainwater does not reside at the base of the board, but flows freely, which significantly reduces the deposition of dust and lichen.

Yes. It is standard in our company to prepare a free visualization. We perform it within 24 hours of receiving the materials. Only after your written approval of the project do we start work in stone.

Self-assembly is simple. Just clean and degrease the gravestone surface, apply stonemasonry silicone or use strong mounting tape. We attach detailed instructions to every shipment.

No. We use only natural stone whose color results from minerals and density, not from surface dyeing. Granite is UV-resistant and does not lose color for decades.

We take full responsibility for the safety of delivery. We pack our tablets in multi-layer protection and dedicated boxes. If, however, damage occurs, we immediately make a new plate at our expense – without additional formalities for you.

From the moment of your approval of the project, we usually send the finished tablet within 3 to 7 business days. We care that the keepsake reaches you as quickly as possible, while maintaining the highest care for workmanship.

We recommend using clean water or water with a bit of gray soap. Aggressive chemicals and scourers should be avoided, as they could scratch the mirror-polished surface of the granite.

We have been operating since 1991, providing high-quality stone products and services.
