💎 Granite Slab Color 1 — Light granite with characteristic veining

Granite slab color 1 is made of light, greyish granite with natural veining. This type of granite — similar to G603 or Italian Bianco Sardo — features a delicate, light grey colour crossed by dark, natural veins running through the stone structure. This veining is the unique characteristic of this granite: no other colour in our range has such a distinctive, organic pattern.

The light background of this granite ensures that letters and inscriptions made in black achieve clear, elegant contrast. The inscription is perfectly readable even from a greater distance — especially important for inscription slabs with full personal details. The light colour also harmonises with the natural cemetery surroundings.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is G603 granite and where does it come from?

G603 is a popular Chinese light granite with a greyish colour, fine to medium grain and characteristic light veining. Bianco Sardo is a similar variety quarried in Sardinia. Both materials are valued in stonework for their light, natural colour, good hardness and frost resistance. G603 is one of the most commonly used light granites in Poland for grave and inscription slabs.

What inscriptions look best on light veined granite?

The best visual effect is achieved with black letters on a light background — the contrast is clear, elegant and perfectly readable. Gold letters also look great, creating a warm, classic combination. Avoid light-coloured letters (white, cream) — on a light background they may be hard to read. Black inscription on light veined granite is one of the most traditional and proven combinations in Polish grave stonework.

Does the veining look the same on every slab?

No — each granite slab is cut from a different part of the block, so the vein pattern differs between pieces. This is a natural characteristic of stone and one of its charms. Veins may be more or less prominent, running in different directions. If you order several slabs for one monument and want pattern consistency, it's worth requesting cutting from the same block.

Does a light granite slab require sealing?

Granite has very low water absorption, so sealing is not necessary. However, applying a clear natural stone treatment every few years is worthwhile — it maintains the polish shine and protects against coloured water penetration or algae growth. The light colour may be slightly more sensitive to algae than dark varieties, so sealing is particularly recommended here.

What size to order if I don't know the exact monument dimensions?

We recommend measuring the existing slab or inscription field before ordering. We offer over 20 sizes from 10×10 to 60×60 cm. If in doubt, contact us — we'll help select the optimal size based on a photo or description of the monument.
