Memorial boulder #40 – one piece of erratic granite
This is a natural stone, not a cast or a replica. We selected it and prepared it for the inscription, and the photos in the listing show this very piece. There will be no second one with the same shape and grain pattern.
What this boulder looks like
The outer dimensions are approx. 28 x 18 x 16 cm. The granite is light grey and fine-grained with dark speckles, and the surface is slightly rough. The body is oval, elongated in outline and slightly narrower on one side, and its height is approx. 16 cm.

How to choose a boulder
Start with the place: a garden, a woodland pet cemetery or a patch of ground under a favourite tree. Measure how much space you have and think about how much text you want to include. The inscription area is approx. 14 x 10 cm, so the longer the text, the smaller the letters. If you have any doubts, write to us and we will suggest how to lay out the inscription.
Inscription and engraving on the boulder
The price of the boulder includes an inscription: name and dates (up to 30 characters). We make the letters by deep sandblasting, on a levelled surface measuring approx. 14 x 10 cm. After purchase we will prepare a visualisation of the inscription. We start the stonework only after you approve it. The inscription is made in the stone itself, so it does not wear off over time.
Placement and installation
Place the boulder on a stable, level base. We recommend a simple installation:
- Remove the turf to a depth of approx. 5–10 cm, over an area slightly larger than the base of the boulder.
- Fill the hole with fine gravel or sand, which ensures drainage and stability.
- Set the boulder in place and press it down firmly. You can scatter decorative stone around the sides.
Granite requires no maintenance, varnishing or impregnation.
Production and delivery
The order of events is simple: order, inscription design, your approval, making the inscription and shipping. The boulder is heavy, so we pack it in reinforced packaging, and the parcel is insured.
